My name is Taylor Hasal (my last name is where I came up with HSL). In the creative world, HSL stands for Hue, Saturation, and Lightness. It’s a fun coincidence, but it became the exact philosophy of this studio: blending high-end visual aesthetics with precision software engineering.
Years Behind the Lens
Before writing a single line of code, I spent over a decade as a professional photographer. I mastered lighting, composition, and visual storytelling—skills that now dictate how I design user interfaces and digital experiences.
The Engineering Shift
In 2018, I completed a rigorous Software Engineering bootcamp. I went on to serve as the webmaster for several community organizations, merging my creative eye with technical execution. That unique intersection birthed HSL Design.
